Illini To Keep Jamall Walker On New Coaching Staff

The University of Illinois assistant coach Jamall Walker will continue on staff with new head coach Brad Underwood.

Walker was the primary recruiter for five-star post Jeremiah Tilmon (East St. Louis), the Illini’s top 2017 recruit, and has also been the lead for red-hot Edwardsville guard Mark Smith.

Walker, who has strong recruiting ties in the St. Louis area, was being courted for a spot on Cuonzo Martin’s staff at Missouri.

It is widely believed that Lamont Evans will come over from Oklahoma State with Underwood which would put two out of three assistant coaches in place.
