Peoria Richwoods will take on Chicago Marshall in one semifinal, and Hillcrest will battle Champaign Centennial in the other as the match-ups for the IHSA Class 3A state finals are now set, and the 3A state champion is set to be crowned on Saturday afternoon.

Peoria Richwoods jumped out to a big lead early against Oswego, and never looked en route to advancing to the 3A state finals. Keifer Sykes scored 17 points, and Alfonzo McKinnie scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Chicago Marshall past St. Viator as the 2008 3A state champs rolled back to the state finals.

Hillcrest got a 26-point effort from Eric Gaines (Kent State) to fuel their win over Chicago Robeson to punch their ticket downstate. They will get a rematch against Rayvonte Rice (Drake), and Champaign Centennial, the defending IHSA Class 3A state champs. Centennial defeated Hillcrest when the two teams squared off last month. This time, the winner will play for the state title.

The Peoria Richwoods/Marshall game is set to tip-off at 12:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon with the Hillcrest/Champaign Centennial game following at 2:00 p.m. The IHSA Class 3A state championship game is set for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. All games will be played at Carver Arena in Peoria, Illinois.
