Class Of 2012 Chicago Hales Franciscan Star Aaric Armstead Remains Red-Hot With College Coaches On The Heels Of A Strong July Run Cavan Walsh August 31, 2010 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Aaric Armstead of Chicago Hales Franciscan is one of the hottest prospects in the Illinois Class of 2012. Armstead, who sizzled on the travel team circuit with Indiana Elite in July, is one of the top 2012 prospects in the state of Illinois. Armstead, a 6'4" shooting guard, is a player who has the ability to score. He is coming off of a superb sophomore season at Hales Franciscan which saw him emerge as one of the top players on a loaded team. Armstead's recruiting has picked up greatly since his run in July with Indiana Elite. “Well, Aaric has picked up a couple new offers in the past couple weeks. First, Loyola offered him a scholarship, and then when we were up at Wisconsin Green-Bay for an unofficial visit along with Aaron, and they offered Aaric on the visit. Also, we’ve had a couple conversations with Dayton, and they were at a lot of his summer games, and they made an offer based off his summer play,” said Phil Armstead, father of Aaric Armstead. New Mexico, Fairfield, Loyola, Valpo, Dayton, and Wisconsin Green-Bay are the schools listed by Phil Armstead as being the most involved currently. New Mexico offered a scholarship earlier in the month. A host of factors will ultimately play into Aaric's decision. “Basically as of complete of a package as possible is what were looking for. It’s very important that Aaric is as comfortable as possible in whatever school he chooses. Of course, academics are above everything and will play a vital role. So far, I really like all the coaches that are currently recruiting Aaric, they are all really good people. It’s going to come come down to the kid and where he feels best,” said Phil Armstead. |
