Class of 2012 North Chicago star Aaron Simpson of Team NLP just wrapped up a strong unofficial visit to the campus of Marquette University, and came away very impressed. Simpson rates as one of the top Class of 2012 prospects in the state of Illinois.

Simpson, a 5'10" guard, is known for his ability to flat out score. As a sophomore, Simpson led North Chicago's high-powered offensive attack by averaging better than 20 points per game. Simpson currently holds down the #3 slot in the ChicagoHoops.com Illinois Class of 2012 prospect rankings.

Well, going on the visit to Marquette was very exciting because it’s an exciting program that has a lot of stuff going good. Their style of play is the way I like it. The campus and school is close to home. Also, on the visit I got to work out with the team, and I thought I did pretty well,” said Simpson.

Simpson loves the way that Marquette plays. “They play my style of play of basketball, their academics are good, and I will be a main part of what they are trying to do on the floor. I would fit in perfect with their program.”

Simpson has Marquette at the top of his list, but is still open, and is also actively looking at a host of other schools that are already involved including Louisiana State, Providence, Xavier, Iowa, Nebraska and Indiana State to name a few. New schools are welcome to come in.

Simpson has big plans for his high school team this year, and is ready to get the 2010-11 season started. “Well I’m predicting that our North Chicago squad is going to Peoria this year. I can just see it, but I plan to run more of the point this year and really get my teammates involved. Also, I’m just going to continue to put the ball in the basket,” said Simpson.
