Class of 2010 Herrin star Alex Brown of the Illinois Bears is one of the true sleepers in his class, and is a player who is poised to see his recruitment take off during the July Evaluation Period.

Brown, a 6'9" post, is a long and athletic big man who excels on the basketball court defensively with his shot-blocking skills. Brown, who has grown more than an inch in the past year, blocked 145 shots for Herrin High School as a junior.

Justin Barrington of the Illinois Bears has been very happy with the inside prescence that Brown Brown has provided for his team on both ends of the floor, and views his ability to block and alter shots as the strongest part of Brown's game. Barrington said, "Everyone knows that he is inside."

Barrington went on to note that Brown is continuing to put in work on improving his offensive game, and that he is working to improve both his footwork, and his ability the face-up, and knock down mid-range jumpers.

Brown, and his Illinois Bears teammates have a full schedule on tap for the month of July including opening the "Live" period at the College Coaches Classic, and closing out the month at the ChicagoHoops.com End of Season Showdown July 29-31 in Merrillville, Indiana.
