Phillips Exeter-bound Josh Bartelstein, who is now a 2009 recruit, is seeing his collegiate recruitment pick up considerably on the heels of a strong showing at the Chicago Summer Classic, and an MVP performance at the Academic All-American Showcase.

Bartelstein, a highly versatile 6'3" point guard, is unique in that he not only has the ability to run a team, but is also a superb shooter who knocks down shots with accuracy, and shooting range that extends out beyond the three-point arc.

A strong showing with the 17-U Rising Stars Blue team, and a co-MVP performance at the Academic All-American Showcase has Bartelstein's recruiting stock taking off. Penn, Holy Cross, Bucknell, Cornell and Princeton are all among the schools recruiting Bartelstein with that list sure to grow over the balance of the month of July.

Bartelstein, and his 17-U Rising Stars Blue squad, will be competing in Orlando Florida for the AAU SuperShowcase and the AAU National Tournament to close out the July Evaluation Period. The Blue team also includes Gozie Umeadi, 6-10 Peter Rakocevic and 6-4 Tellef Lundevall. All are stellar students in the classroom.
