Former Highland Park Basketball Star Josh Bartelstein Of Phillips Exeter Academy To Play His College Basketball At The University Of Michigan As A Recruited Walk-On Chicago Hoops April 29, 2009 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Former Highland Park basketball star Josh Bartelstein of Phillips Exeter Academy has decided to play his college basketball in the Big 10 Conference as a recruited walk-on at the University of Michigan. Bartelstein, who stands 6'4", is a player who is equally capable of playing either guard slot, and is known for his ability to drop shots with great range and accuracy. Bartelstein is coming off of a superb postgraduate season at Phillips Exeter which saw him lead the team both in scoring and assists. Bartelstein, who was personally recruited by Michigan head coach John Beilein, visited the campus in Ann Arbor this past weekend, and knew that is where he wanted to be. Beilein spent the entire day with Bartelstein, and personally escorted him around campus. Beilein is known for having great success with recruited walk-on's as many have played prominent roles both at West Virginia and Michigan. Bartelstein selected Michigan over a host of Division I scholarship offers including Wagner, San Diego, Elon, UIC, Detroit and Valparaiso. |
