Mac Irvin Fire And Mean Streets Both Open The Prestigious Nike Boo Williams With Big Wins......Another Star Emerges In The 2011 Class As 6'8" Anthony Davis Shines Chicago Hoops April 10, 2010 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com The 17-U Mac Irvin Fire and 17-U Mean Streets both opened the Nike Boo Williams Invitational in Virginia with victories. Yet another star is emerging in the already loaded Illinois Class of 2011 as Anthony Davis (Chicago Perspectives) of Mean Streets came up huge. The Fire defeated Houston Hoops with Wisconsin-bound George Marshall (Chicago Brooks) and Dre Henley (Brehm Prep) helping to lead a balanced Mac Irvin Fire attack. The Fire has played very well as a team thus far early in the spring. Mean Streets knocked off the King James Shooting Stars with 6'8" Anthony Davis taking center stage. Davis, who recorded a 50-point game during the high school season for Chicago Perspectives, is a long and highly skilled frontcourt talent who excels with his all-around versatility. The event will continue through the weekend. |
