6-10 Jordan Threloff of DeKalb, a Class of 2010 prospect who continues to get bigger, and also continues to make very nice strides on the basketball court had both Illinois and Loyola stop in for open gym this week.
6-7 Class of 2009 Richards High School star Shaun Pratl of MeanStreets continues to impress with his strong play on the basketball court. This past weekend, Pratl anchored the frontcourt for a MeanStreets team that advanced all the way to the Elite 8 at the King James Shooting Stars Classic. In the past two weeks, Southern Illinois, Indiana State and Illinois State have all been in to see Pratl, who will be the feature player next season for head coach John Chappetto, as they look to defend their Class 4A state title.
Very quietly, Class of 2009 Rich South star Kendrick Morse has been ripping through all-comers on the basketball court. Morse, a 5-8 point guard, has been close to unstoppable scoring and distributing the basketball, all the while not turning the basketball over. Morse who was stellar at the ChicagoHoops Spring Tip-Off Classic, the Kingwood Classic and also the King James Shooting Stars Classic, will be in action this weekend with the Illinois Ice at the Spiece Run N' Slam.
Loras College head coach Greg Gorton is a real good dude.
Keep an eye out for a strong 15-U Peoria Irish team this weekend at the Spiece Run N' Slam. The team features a number of Class of 2011 stars including Jordan Nelson (Lincoln), Hayden Hoerdemann (Bloomington Central Catholic), Tyler Lundeen (Morton), Mark Gilchrese (Springfield) and D.J. Gillespie (Normal).
Class of 2009 Chicago Hales Franciscan star D.J. Cooper of MeanStreets has a scholarship offer on the table from Loyola.
Class of 2010 Chicago Marist star Nick Valla of the Illinois Kings has caught the eye of Colgate. Valla is a prospect to keep a close eye on for the next couple of years.
Lincoln College head coach B.J. McCullum has resigned. McCullom, who had a record of 243-93 in 10 years as coach at Lincoln, has decided to take a non-coaching position at Delta State in Mississippi. Lincoln College won 6 Midwest Athletic Conference titles under McCullum.
