Phillips Exeter-Bound Class of 2009 star Josh Bartelstein is beginning to see his collegiate recruitment heat up. Drake of the Missouri Valley Conference is now involved with Penn, Holy Cross, Princeton Bucknell, Lafayette and Brown also in the mix for the 6'4" guard who is a "lights out" shooter from long range, and also has the ability to play either guard slot interchangeably.

Ohio University remains strong for Class of 2009 Seton Academy star D.J. Cooper of MeanStreets. Cooper, one of the top point guard prospects in the Illinois Class of 2009, is expected on campus for a visit early in the month of September. Under the direction of new head coach John Groce, and star assistant coach Jamall Walker, Ohio is expected to recruit the state of Illinois hard.

Class of 2009 Jacobs star Conrad Krutwig of the 17-U Illinois Wolves is expected to be on campus at Lehigh on August 30th. Krutwig, a versatile and hardnosed 6'7" forward is coming off a strong run during the July Evaluation Period.

Chad Altadonna of Eastern Illinois University is a real good dude.

Class of 2010 St. Joseph star DeAndre McCamey of the Illinois Wolves is seeing his rehabilitation from a knee injury this spring progress ahead of schedule.

Class of 2009 Seton Academy star Tony Nixon of the Mac Irvin Fire now has a scholarship offer on the table from the University of Toledo.

Former Niles Notre Dame and Bucknell star Abe Badmus is now on staff at the St. Francis (PA).

Former Thornridge star Demario Williams has committed to play collegiately for head coach Dave Buchanan, and the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He will join former Chicago De La Salle star Dwight Hill at UW-Superior. Last year, as a sophomore, Hill was led the league in assists en route to being tabbed as an All-Conference selection.

Drake assistant coach Kareem Richardson continues to work overtime on the recruiting trail in the state of Illinois. Drake has had great success of late with prospects from the state of Illinois including John Cox and Josh Parker. Look for Richardson to keep the Illinois prospects coming.
