Class of 2012 St. Joseph star Cameron Harvey has now picked up a Horizon League scholarship offer from UIC. Harvey ranks as one of the top 2012 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Harvey, a 6'3" shooting guard, is a strong and athletic backcourt talent who can score. Harvey was verballed to the University of Wyoming ahead of deciding to open up his recruitment earlier this year.

“I met Howard Moore going into my freshman year of high school at St. Joes. He always been close to the family and I have always liked him. When we found out he was going to be the coach at UIC we were talking and he didn’t promise me a scholarship, but he implied that he would offer me a scholarship, and he came thru,” said Harvey.

“This weekend I’m going visit to Notre Dame for the football and then play in some pickup games with their guys. Then, in a couple weeks I’m going out to Nebraska for an unofficial visit, and basically do the same thing. I’m also going to be going on visits to South Florida, Miami (OH), and Dayton for unofficials at some point this fall. I also have Iowa, Iowa State, William and Mary, and Albany all recruiting me as well. I’m going to wait and see and how it plays out, and see what schools offer and what not then make my decision from there.”
