Class Of 2011 Rock Island Star Chasson Randle Of The Illinois Wolves Has A Chance To Be A Special Player On The Basketball Court
Class of 2011 Rock Island star Chasson Randle of the 15-U Illinois Wolves has a chance to be a special player on the basketball court. Randle easily rates as one of the elite prospects in the Illinois Class of 2011.
Randle, a 6-2 guard, is a dazzling combination of size, athleticism and basketball skill. Offensively, Randle combines a strong handle with an excellent feel for the game. He separates himself with his ability to change direction on a drop of dime, and explode past defenders with a quick burst of speed.
Defensively, Randle's long arms and athleticism make him perfectly suited to defend either guard position.
Randle was outstanding this weekend playing for the 15-U Illinois Wolves at the Spiece Run N' Slam in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Randle was at his best in crunch time in a match-up against Donivine Stewart (Limestone), and Peoria Carver in the Sweet 16 of the tournament.
Although his team lost the game by two points, Randle was electric at times en route to scoring a game-high 23 points, and was at his best down the stretch with the game on the line.
When it is all said and done, Randle could top out at 6-3 or 6-4 in height, and has a chance to be as good as any prospect in the 2011 class not named Mike Shaw (Chicago De La Salle).
Randle, and fellow freshman 6-5 Jacob Williams (Chicago St. Patrick) are on track to follow in the footsteps of Demetri McCamey (Illinois) and Evan Turner (Ohio State) as the next great Illinois Wolves duo.
This past season, as a freshman at Rock Island High School, Randle was a Western Big 6 All-Conference selection. He is also a stellar student in the classroom, and will be a player that you will hear a lot about over the course of the next few years.
