Once Again The City of Chicago Is Loaded With Big Time Point Guard Prospects On All Levels
Brian Stinnette August 23, 2005 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Sherron Collins (Chicago Crane), Derrick Rose (Chicago Simeon) and Jerome Randle (Chicago Hales Franciscan) are just a few of the big time points guards who happen to play their high school basketball in the city of Chicago. Even though the city lost an elite point guard when Chris Singletary transferred, you will be hardpressed to find another city in America with a finer group of floor generals. Collins, a 5-10 floor general, is as good as any Class of 2006 point guard in the country. Rose rates as one of the elite Class of 2007 point guards nationally. In no particular order, Collins, Rose, O.J. Mayo, Jerryd Bayless and Tywon Lawson are the Top 5 point guard prospects in the United States. Randle, a 5-7 jet, put his name on the national map with a dominant month of July that saw him lead Chicago Ferrari to the 17-U AAU National Championship. During the time that Randle was terrorizing opponents in Florida. The city is also home to Class of 2006 stud Darien McKinstry (Chicago Hales Franciscan), and Class of 2007 standouts 5-10 Michael "Juice" Thompson (Chicago Lincoln Park)and Aaron Johnson (Chicago Hubbard). In addition, the city also features super-smooth Class of 2008 big timer 6-5 DeAndre Liggens (Chicago Washington). |
