Chicago Public League Playoffs Set To Begin Tomorrow With 32 Teams Competing For The 2010 City Championship

The Chicago Public League Playoffs are set to begin on Wednesday with 32 teams set to compete for the title. Several intriguing match-ups are set for the first round. Second round games next week will be fiercely competitive as the event moves to crown the 2010 city champion.

Chicago Public League Red-South rivals Chicago Vocational and Chicago Julian will meet on Wednesday in a monster first round game. Vocational is led by their senior duo of Hollis Hill and Aaron Williams, while Julian features a lineup that includes their high-scoring backcourt tandem of Walter Lemon and Phillip Greene, and 6'7" post Jamari Traylor.

Chicago Crane and Chicago North Lawndale will also meet in a first round contest that should be hotly contested. Crane, which features Kieran Woods and Jeremy Newton, owns wins over Chicago Morgan Park and Chicago Whitney Young. North Lawndale features a deep and talented roster that is anchored by their frontcourt duo of 6'10" Paul Bunch and Jermaine Winfield.
