Class of 2011 Chicago Perspectives star Anthony Davis of Mean Streets has now given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball for head coach John Calipari, and the University of Kentucky. Davis is arguably the top Class of 2011 basketball prospect in the country.

Davis, a 6'10" power forward, came out of seemingly nowhere to become the hottest prospect in the United States in a matter of months. Davis, who has undergone a huge growth spurt over the course of the past two years, has been dominant at times this spring and summer while matched up against other elite national prospects.

Anthony Davis Sr., said "I am glad the process is finally over. It was a bit overwelming at times, but Kentucky was the right fit for Anthony athletically, academically and socially.

Davis joins a monster Class of 2011 recruiting class for Kentucky that also includes Michael Gilchrist and Marquis Teague, which may well give Kentucky the top three Class of 2011 prospects in the country.
