Class of 2011 Chicago Carver star Deshawn Delaney is seeing his recruitment go well as he gears up to lead what will be a strong Chicago Carver team for the 2010-11 season. Delaney ranks as one of the top 2011 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Delaney, a 6'5 small forward, is a highly versatile and intriguing prospect who is a double-double waiting to happen every time he hits the floor. Delaney is a tremendous rebounder who is comfortable making things happen both inside and on the perimeter.

Delaney's recruiting is going well. ”It’s going really good right now. There have been college coaches coming up to my school to see me work out and watch me. The schools that have been in to see me are the likes of Eastern Illinois, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Chicago State, and UIC,” said Delaney. ”I’m looking for good academics in the particular college I choose. Also, I just want an overall good program some place that I fit in comfortably and can excel on and off the court.”

Delaney, who competed on the travel team circuit with the Derrick Rose All-Stars, is continuing to hone his skills. “I have been playing a lot basketball with my AAU team doing individual type instruction that has been very good. I have been traveling a lot and getting in the gym during the morning for three hours working on my skills that i am not good at to get better,” said Delaney.

Delaney, and his Chicago Carver teammates compete in the Chicago Public League Red-South, which this year will again be very strong with the likes of Chicago Simeon, Chicago Morgan Park and Chicago Brooks all gearing up for big seasons.
