Sophomore star Devon Hodges was sharp as Romeoville opened the season with a big win over Joliet Catholic at the WJOL Thanksgiving Classic. Hodges ranks as one of the top Class of 2011 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Hodges, a 6'7" power forward, brings a strong all-around skill package to the table. A lefty, Hodges is comfortable playing both with his back-to-the-basket, and also facing-up. Hodges is a quick and highly mobile player who is always around the basketball, and stabilizes the interior with his ability to rebound.

Hodges, who also excels in the classroom, noted to ChicagoHoops.com that he is enjoying getting the opportunity to put his frontcourt versatility on display this season.

Hodges, who was solid a year ago as a freshman on the Romeoville varsity, missed this past spring on the travel team circuit while resting an injury. He bounced back strong in the month of July, and was impressive while helping to lead the 15-U Wolves to the USSSA National Championship in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Hodges and Romeoville will be back in action on Wednesday night against Providence Catholic.
