Class of 2010 Oak Park-River Forest star Jeff Dirkin of the Illinois Kings has given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball for head coach Tom Klusman, and Division II heavyweight Rollins College. Dirkin ranks as one of the top Class of 2010 prospects in the state of Illinois.

Dirkin, a 6'8" post, is a highly mobile and skilled big man who excels with his ability to make things happen both inside and outside. Dirkin saw his recruiting stock rise a great deal on the heels of strong run both with Oak Park-River Forest, and also on the travel team circuit with the Illinois Kings.

Greg Ktistou of the Illinois Kings confirmed the commitment, and noted that Dirkin had a great visit to Rollins two weeks ago, and also noted that the fact that Rollins has one of the top business schools in the country, and that the coaching staff made him an early priority were among the factors for Dirkin selecting Rollins rather than wait for a Division I offer in the spring.

Dirkin becomes the third Illinois Kings player to accept a full scholarship to play college basketball joining Riverside-Brookfield star Sean McGonagil (Brown) and Neuqua Valley star Kareem Amedu (St. Michaels).
