Class Of 2011 Limestone Star Donivine Stewart, An Electric Scorer, Is Ready To Once Again Take The Lead With The High School Season Starting Next Week Cavan Walsh November 19, 2009 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Class of 2011 Limestone star Donivine Stewart, a prolific scorer, is ready to once again lead his team on the hardwood as the basketball season with the basketball season set to tip-off next week. Stewart rates as one of the top Class of 2011 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois. Stewart, a 5'11" guard, burst onto the scene as a freshman, when he torched the nets with a scoring average of better than 23 points per game. Stewart has continued his scoring prowess, but also put his ball distribution skills on full display this spring and summer while playing up an age division with 17-U All-Iowa Attack. Stewart is continuing to work hard in the gym, and is liking what he is seeing from his Limestone teammates in practice. “Practice has been going pretty good. We are preparing for what should be a good season. The younger players are really starting to catch on to what we are trying to do, and it’s been pretty intense with competition, drills, and energy in practice,” said Stewart. Stewart, and his Limestone teammates, have a step-by-step plan for the coming year. “We truly want to try and win our holiday tournaments, then work on winning our conference, and then getting downtown for state,” noted Stewart. Stewart has lone been popular among college recruiters from around the country, and has a host of schools actively keeping close tabs on him including Colorado, Clemson, Miami (FL), Rice, UNLV, Marquette, Alabama , DePaul, Bradley, and Notre Dame to name a few. Limestone will open the season next Wednesday against Hazelwood (MO) Central at the State Farm Tournament of Champions. They will then close out the week at the Quincy Thanksgiving Tournament. |
