MLK Dream Classic To Feature A Loaded Field Of Competing Boys And Girls Teams From 10 Different States Over Three Days At Chicago Whitney Young High School.

The 2009 Martin Luther King Dream Classic is set to run this Saturday, Sunday and Monday with a loaded field of competing boys and girls basketball teams. In addition to featuring many of the top teams in Illinois, the event will also showcase teams from 9 other states. The 3-day event will be held at Chicago Whitney Young High School.

A number of top players from the state of Illinois will be in action including Malcolm Griffin (Hyde Park), Anthony Dixon (Hyde Park), Jerome Moore (Hyde Park), Mychal Henry (Orr), Phillip Jackson (Providence St. Mel), Mark Mack (Providence St. Mel), Josh Humphrey (Crete-Monee), Mario Redmond (Crete-Monee), Jamie Crockett (Crete-Monee), Kentrell King (Crete-Monee), Raul Guzman (Morton), Luke Scarlata (Morton), Joe Belcaster (Morton), John Taylor (North Lawndale), Jon Mills (North Lawndale), Jermaine Winfield (North Lawndale), Terry Johnson (North Lawndale), LaShane Purdy (Robeson), Crandall Head (Crane), Reggie Smith (Thornton), Jay Parker (Thornton) and Trevell Rivers (Thornton).

Robert Covington (Proviso West), Tramel Owens (Proviso West), Aaron Moise (Morgan Park), Victor Scott (Morgan Park), Demetrius Tolliver (Farragut), Jeremy Jones (Simeon), Brandon Spearman (Simeon), Tywon Pinckney (Simeon), Rob Robinson (Simeon), Brenton Little (Proviso East), Angus Brandt (Lake Forest Academy) and David Smith (Lake Forest Academy) are also among the headliners.
