Head Coach Herb Sendek, And Arizona State University Land Former Bloomington Central Catholic Star Brandon Dunson Of Juco Powerhouse Wabash Valley College Chicago Hoops January 30, 2010 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Wabash Valley College point guard Brandon Dunson has verbally committed to continue playing his college basketball for head coach Herb Sendek, and Arizona State University. Dunson stands 6’3” 180 lbs, and is a redshirt sophomore. He averages 12 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds while shooting 50% from the field and 44% from three. He’s helped lead a deep WVC team to a 20-2 record, and the #8 national ranking. Dunson is a versatile player that made the transition from the wing to the point guard this year. He’s highly athletic and in late 2007 while enrolled at Tennessee-Chattanooga, Dunson tested a 44.5 inch max vertical leap. He’s a lockdown defender that rebounds, knocks down shots with range, and is a great creator for teammates of the dribble. Brandon chose Arizona State after heavily considering Valparaiso, Illinois, Nevada, Oklahoma State, and UCLA. Alabama, California, Gonzaga, and Kansas State were also schools with interest. John A Logan point guard Lazeric Jones has already verbally committed to UCLA. The two will faceoff for the second time on February 13th at 3:00 p.m. at WVC. In the first matchup, JAL beat WVC in overtime 87-78. Jones finished with 19 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists while Dunson finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. |
