Former Chicago Dunbar star Darrell Williams, who has now transferred to Texas-based juco powerhouse Midland College, is poised to anchor the frontcourt for a Midland team poised to make a run at antoher national championship. Williams ranks as one of the top junior college basketball prospects in the country.

Williams, a 6'8" post, is a strong and physical interior prescence who has the ability to impact games in the paint on both ends of the basketball court. As a freshman, Williams was a key member of a Chipola (FL) College team that spent most of the season ranked #1 in the country.

Midland College head coach Ross Hodge describes Williams as a player who brings a great deal of physical toughness to the paint. Hodge also notes that Williams is expected to be one of the better rebounders in the Texas Eastern Athletic Conference if not the country, and is a player who brings a wealth of experience after competing in the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas as a freshman.

Williams recently took an unofficial visit to the campus of Oklahoma State University, and has a long line of high-major programs hot on his trail including Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, Marquette and South Florida just to name a few.
