6'9" Class Of 2012 Brehm Prep Star Emmanuel Ochenje Turns His Game Up A Notch This Fall, And Is Set To Open His Sophomore Season Tonight Brian Stinnette November 3, 2009 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Class of 2012 Brehm Prep star Emmanuel Ochenje of the Illinois Titans has turned his game up a notch this fall, and is once again asserting himself on the basketball court. Ochenje currently ranks as the top Class of 2012 basketball prospect in the state of Illinois. Ochenje, a 6'9" post, is a long, mobile and athletic big man who excels with his ability to score the basketball. Ochenje is part of a very strong Brehm Prep frontcourt rotation that also includes 6'6" James Siakam and 6'9" Otto Osenieks. Brehm Prep head coach Aaron Lee has been extremely pleased with Ochenje's play this fall. Lee notes that Ochenje has always been skilled, but has now made tremendous strides with both his effort and toughness on both ends of the floor, and that he is playing much better defensively. Lee considers Ochenje's ability to score the ball consistently from 17-feet and in as his biggest asset currently. Ochenje is comfortable scoring both back-to-the-basket as well as facing the basket. Ochenje had a strong run on the jamboree circuit in October, and is in turn seeing his recruiting stock continue to fly high. Ochenje continue to hold the #1 slot when the ChicagoHoops.com Class of 2012 rankings are updated this week. Ochenje, and Class of 2011 star Bruce Barron both attended Midnight Madness at Oklahoma State University in October. Ochenje, and his Brehm Prep teammates will open the season tonight against Southeastern Illinois, and will then be in action on Friday and Saturday at the John A. Logan Invitational in Carterville, Illinois. |
