Class of 2011 Evanston Township star James Farr picked up a Horizon League scholarship offer from UIC while on a visit to the campus over the weekend. Farr rates as one of the top 2011 prospects in the state of Illinois.

Farr, a 6'8" post who knocks down shots with three-point range has seen his recruiting stock skyrocket over the past year.

"The UIC visit was pretty good. I got a chance to meet the coaching staff, and Coach Moore along with some of the players. They were laying everything out there for me, and then Coach Moore informed me I had a full scholarship offer to UIC. From there I talked to some of the assistant coaches, and went around campus and checked out the new practice facility and everything else," said Farr.

Farr is working his way through the recruiting process and starting to set up visits. "Boise State, Western Michigan, Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, and UIC are all the schools in the mix. I have official visits tentatively set up with Western Michigan for the weekend of October 1st, and Boise State the weekend of October 23rd. I still have to confirm the dates, but Boise State is also doing an in-home visit on September 12th," said Farr.

Farr is going to take his time with the process. "I don't have a timetable on when I want to decide. When the time is right really is when I'll make a decision. I'm going to have patience and see what other schools come along as well."

New head coach Howard Moore is wasting no time on the recruiting trail for UIC. A host of Illinois Class of 2011 prospects are now sporting UIC scholarship offers including 6'8" Greg Mays of Crete-Monee.
