DunkFest! Impressive Contingent Of College Programs Watch The 16-U Mac Irvin Fire Open The Main Event With A 87-32 Win
An impressive contingent of college basketball programs was on hand to watch the 16-U Mac Irvin Fire put on a DunkFest as they opened the Main Event in Las Vegas with an 87-32 victory.
The Fire was unstoppable from start to finish and delighted the crowd with an aerial show as the loaded squad rolled to victory.
Wayne Blackshear (Chicago Curie), Sam Thompson (Chicago Whitney Young) and Phillip Jackson (Chicago Providence St. Mel) all put their dunking skills on full display. Dre Henley (Chicago De La Salle), Tracy Abrams (Chicago Mount Carmel), Jay Parker (Thornton), DeShawn Greer (Chicago Simeon), Kentrell King (Crete-Monee) and Vincent Garrett (Chicago Marshall) were all a part of a tremendous team effort.
DePaul head coach Jerry Wainwright, Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan and Southern Illinois head coach Chris Lowery were all in the house with all three programs having multiple coaching staff members in attendance. Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Iowa State, Northwestern, Marquette, Oregon State and Illinois State were also front and center for the 16-U Fire.
