Class of 2010 Champaign Centennial star Jeff Johnson of the Peoria Irish has picked up a scholarship offer from Eastern Kentucky University. Johnson ranks as one of the top Class of 2010 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Johnson, a 6'7" post, is a player who brings size, strength and versatility to the paint. Johnson is an intriguing prospect in that he can not only score inside, but also has the ability to knock down shots with three-point range, and accuracy from the perimeter as well.

Johnson, who is also a stellar student in the classroom, teamed with James Kinney (Ohio) and fellow 2010 star Rayvonte Rice to lead Centennial to the IHSA Class 3A state title this past season.

Gavin Sullivan of the Peoria Irish confirmed Johnson's scholarship offer from Eastern Kentucky.

The Peoria Irish have a full schedule on tap for the July Evaluation Period, and will be in action at the absolutely loaded Chicago Summer Classic July 9-11.
