Class of 2008 Niles West star Nik Garcia pumped in 35 points to lead the Blazers to a 110-86 win over the Raptors. Meanwhile, Chris McClellan (Wheeling) scored 23 points, and freshman sensation Andre Henley (Chicago De La Salle) added 22 as the Grizzlies topped Jeremy Montgomery (Chicago Lincoln Park) and the Jazz 91-83 in a hotly contested battle at the Rising Stars Fall League presented by ChicagoHoops.com.


In the Blazers high-scoring win over the Raptors, Garcia got plenty of help from teammates Jack Cooley (Glenbrook South) and John Kinsler who each scored 26 points to back up Garcia's 35-point effort. Craig Burton led the Raptors with 25 points with Brandon Bibbs scoring 13, and Peter Rakovic adding 12.

The Grizzlies/Jazz contest was hotly contested from the start, and saw the Grizzlies pull away in the final minute of the game to produce the 91-83 final score. McClellan and Henley were backed up by Ryan Shelton (Rockford Harlem) with 13 points, and Andrew Gallow (Oswego) who scored 12. The Jazz got 16 points from Jeremy Montgomery, 12 points from Cortney Bell (Chicago Lincoln Park) and 10 from Andy Timson (Lake Forest).

The Suns remained undefeated by knocking off the Mavs 77-58. University of Illinois-bound Jereme Richmond (Waukegan) led the Suns with 23 points. He was backed up by Lorenzo Fiol who scored 20 points including 4 three-point baskets, and Colin Nickerson who added an additional 16 points. Tony Nixon (Seton Academy) led the Mavs with 20 points, and some intense defensive play. Kenny Stevenson (Seton Academy) added 14 points for the Mavs.

The Lakers edged the Nuggets 68-66. Issa Avery led the Lakers with 25 points. He was backed up by 18 points from Jon Patino, and 12 points from Tim Hill. Ryan Haggerty led Nuggets with 18 points with Demarko Nash adding 16 points. Meanwhile, the Spurs knocked off the Rockets 65-52 behind a 20-point effort from Mike Goldstein. The Spurs were able to overcome a huge 27-point effort from Class of 2010 New Trier star Alex Rossi of the Rockets. The game also saw 6-10 Albany-bound Jake Lindfors locking up with 6-10 Class of 2010 star Fred Heldring (New Trier).

In other action, the Warriors topped the Wolves 70-67 with Ben Brust (Mundelein) scoring 16 points, and Andy Rochon (Mundelein) adding 14 points for the Warriors. Brad Johnstin led the Wolves with 19 points. The Clippers, behind 17 points from Alex Turnowcnyk defeated the Kings. The Kings were led by Paul Tometich with 11 points. The Hornets topped the Sonics 69-52. Matt Condron led the way for the Hornets with 20 points, and Michael Powell with 17 points. Mike McCall (Chicago Foreman) led the Sonics with 24 points with Eddie Denard (Chicago Foreman) adding 12.

In Frosh/Soph action, Adam Chick sank the game-winning free throw in overtime as Cavs defeated the Bulls 53-52 in a hotly contested battle. 6-7 Mike Gabriel (Chicago Lincoln Park) scored 22 points, and Stefan Caples added 15 to lead the Cavs. Martell Moore scored 19 points, and Joseph Bulliner scored 18 to lead the Bulls.

The Nets defeated the Pistons 86-55. Matt Mache led the Nets with 26 points, Taylor Moore and Reggie Greenwood each added 17 points, and Sam Savaglio added 16 points. Michael Mache led the Pistons with 18 points. The Magic beat the Heat 65-53. Scott Suchy led the Magic with 15 points, and Steve Adrianos scored 13 points. Robert Ritacca led the Heat with 12 points.

Aric Dickerson (Chicago Lincoln Park) scored 25 points to offset a 29-point effort from Owen Worthington to lead the Wizards to a 71-59 win over the Hawks. Demarko Nash backed up Dickerson with 10 points for the Wizards, while Fabian Smith added 10 points for the Hawks. The Bucks edged the Celtics 46-45. John Androus scored 10 points, Henry Hermes scored 6 and Dylan Bartuch scored 6 to lead the Bucks. Chris Terzic led the Celtics with 12 points and Jack Ryan added 10 points.

A 31-point effort from Harris Habibviz of the Bobcats was not enough as the Pacers defeated the Bobcats 88-75. Tim Hill scored 24 points, D'Wayne Brantley scored 18 and Alex Foster added 10 points to lead the Pacers. Ben Levine added 12 points and Connor Boehm, Kevin Ciardiello and Daniel Mooney each scored 10 for the Bobcats.

The Knicks topped the Sixers 68-67 in a tight battle. Leavon Head scored 20 points, Ramson Yountham scored 11, Drew Moncelle scored 11 and Darius Paul added 10 to lead the Knicks. The Knicks needed every point to offset a huge 30-point effort from Tony Pierce of the Sixers. Devin Powell backed up Pierce with 20 points.
