Class of 2010 Seton Academy star Khameron Harper of First Step is ready for his senior season, and is ready to be one of the leaders of a Seton Academy team that will be looking to repeat as IHSA Class 2A state champions. Harper rates among the top 2010 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Harper, a 6'2" guard, brings both size and versatility to the backcourt. Harper has a strong frame, and has the ability to get minutes at either guard slot. Harper is equally comfortable playing the role of ball distributor, or stretching defenses with his ability to drop shots with range that extends out beyond three-point arc.

Harper had a strong run on the travel team circuit with First Step, and at various points of the spring and summer teamed with the likes of Gerald Dorsey (Tinley Park), 6'7" D.J. Bennett (Sandburg), 6'7 Ricardo Martin (Chicago Hales Franciscan) and Kenny Stevenson.

Seton Academy head coach Ken Stevenson expects big things from Harper this year as they look to duplicate their success of a year ago. "I expect Khameron Harper to have a break out year this year. He is silky smooth he has excellent court vision and he can really shoot the ball. He has great size and if he has a great season we will have a chance to repeat."

Seton Academy graduated a good deal of talent from their 2A state championship team of a year ago including Tony Nixon (Northern Illinois), D.J. Cooper (Ohio) and Jordan Walker (Midland J.C.). However, they return a great deal of firepower in Harper, Illinois-Chicago-bound Kenny Stevenson and 6'7" Chris Olivier, and will once again be among the favorites to bring home the IHSA Class 2A state title.
