Former Chicago Simeon Star Lazeric "Zeke" Jones Of Juco Powerhouse John A. Logan College Now Has A Scholarship Offer From UCLA On The Table Brian Stinnette November 17, 2009 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Former Chicago Simeon star Lazeric "Zeke" Jones of junior college powerhouse John A. Logan College has now picked up a Pacific 10 scholarship offer from UCLA. Jones rates as one of the top junior college basketball prospects in the country. Jones, a 6'2", 200-pound point guard, is a superb floor leader who excels both with his ability to score, and also with his ball-distribution skills. Jones has a strong frame which allows him to absorb contact, and to then easily finish off his drives with buckets. UCLA has already been out to see Jones twice, and is recruiting the former Chicago Public League star very hard. Arizona and Wisconsin have also both been out to see Jones, who is seeing his recruiting stock continue to fly high, and is hearing from schools from around the country. As a high school senior, Jones was part of a strong Chicago Simeon team that advanced all the way to the IHSA Class AA state championship game ahead of falling to Chicago Marshall. Stan Simpson of the University of Illinois, and Illinois State-bound Kenyon Smith (Lincoln) were also a part of that team. John A. Logan features a roster loaded with talent including Jones, 6'9" Arkansas transfer Andre Clark, 6'10" Antwond Roshell, 6'8" Jesse Perry, 6'6" Kenny Harris, 6'3" Russell Moore, 6'7" Isiah Simelton, 6'6" Nathaniel Butler and 6'2" Devonte Maymon to name a few. John A. Logan will next be in action tonight at home against Three Rivers. |
