Class of 2008 Chicago Washington star DeAndre Liggins of Indiana Elite has a sustained a stress fracture of the 5th metatarsal bone in his foot. Estimates have Liggins likely sidelined for 6 weeks while the injury heels. Liggins ranks as one of the top Class of 2008 basketball prospects in the United States.

Liggins originally injured the foot at an open gym two weeks ago. The injury was aggravated during a game at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions this weekend in North Carolina when an opposing player landed on the foot. X-rays taken in North Carolina confirmed that the injury was indeed a stress fracture.

Liggins, who has been sensational on the travel team circuit this spring with Indiana Elite, ranks as one of the top Class of 2008 basketball prospects in the United States. He recently narrowed down his list of potential collegiate destinations to Memphis, Kansas, Kentucky, Illinois and Texas.
