Lyons Township Tops Proviso East 73-63 Behind 18 Points And 17 Rebounds From Justin Phipps As The Team Moves To 20-0 On The Season........A Rematch Game Against Will Sullivan, And York High School Looms On The Horizon Chicago Hoops February 7, 2010 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Class of 2010 star Justin Phipps scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to power Lyons Township to a 73-63 win over Proviso East, and in the process moved Lyons Township to a perfect record of 20-0 on the season. Lyons Township broke a tight game wide open in the third quarter and then held off a late charge by Proviso East as the team continues to thrive with their deep and balanced play. Senior Don Lalonde backed up Phipps monster effort with 16 points while senior guards Jimmy Stamas and Austin Lusson each added added 12 points. 6'4" senior Brenton Little led Proviso East with 25 points with senior guard Rishaad Alexander backing him up with 13 points. Lyons will put their undefeated mark on the line again this coming Friday when they take on Class of 2011 star Will Sullivan, and York High School in a rematch of an early January contest won by Lyons Township. |
