Player Diary: Manual Cass of Carbondale High School
Manual Cass Special To ChicagoHoops.com September 7, 2005 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com 6-7 Manual Cass of Carbondale High School rates as one of the top Class of 2006 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois. Follow along as Manual gives us an inside look at his recruitment, and his life both on and off of the basketball court. This is Manual Cass from Carbondale High School, and this is the first installment of my Player Diary for ChicagoHoops.com. I played on the summer basketball circuit with the Illinois Warriors, and I think I played pretty well, so I feel good about my summer. I loved playing at the Nike All-America Camp. It's tough to get a lot of sleep at the Nike Camp, but you still have to bring your "A" game every day because you are competing against the best players in the country. Right now, I am pretty happy with my overall game on the basketball court. The strongest part of my game is my versatility to play inside, or outside on both ends of the basketball court. Although I am working hard to improve all aspects of my game, I am placing an emphasis on improving my ball-handling in my workouts. Last year, we advanced all the way to the state championship game before we lost to Jon Scheyer and Glenbrook North. We will be going back to Peoria this year! The experience that I gained last year will definetely help me to be the leader of the team this year. Our Junior Varsity team only lost one game last year, and our roster now includes Joey Parker, Vince Mack and Jordan Montague. Xavier, UNLV, Iowa, Illinois and Florida State are among the schools that I am looking at right now. I am hearing from a lot of other schools, and I am still very open to new schools that want to get involved. I am just looking for the school that I feel will be the best overall fit for me. That's all that I have for now. Before I go, I would like to give a shout out to Aaron Lee. I would also like to give a special mention to my girlfriend, and I would like to let her know that I appreciate the fact that she understands the travel, and level of commitment that comes with my playing basketball. |
