Class of 2012 Winnebago star Marcus Posley of PrymeTyme has now picked up Division I scholarship offers from both Northern Illinois and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Posley ranks as one of the top Class of 2012 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Posley, a 6'1" guard, is a strong and versatile slasher who has the ability to get to the rim at will. Posley is coming off of a superb month of July which saw him have stellar efforts at the Adidas Invitational in Indianapolis, Indiana hand at the Hoop City Classic in Kansas City, Missouri ahead of closing out the month by helping to lead PrymeTyme to the 16-U title at the ChicagoHoops.com End of Season Showdown in Merrillville, Indiana.

Posley was happy with both scholarship offers. “Once I talked to SIU-E, I was pretty happy they were interested in me let alone offering me a scholarship. Also, I was really surprised by NIU, but once I talked to them I liked what I heard. They are a decent program, and I wouldn’t mind going to either school,” said Posley who went on to note, “I know there are some things I need to work on and improve upon, but it’s nice to have two offers on the table going into my junior year. It’s really nice and I hope to have more offers come this coming basketball season.”

Posley's hard work over the summer is starting to pay off. “I have just been working on my game all summer and these offers are just a relief a little bit. I’ve really been busting it in the weight room, and on the court all summer. Also, the group of guys I play with all really push me. “I think I’ve had a pretty solid summer overall. I did pretty good in Kansas City and Merrillville. Overall, I’ve had a few inconsistent games, but other than that I’ve been happy with the way I performed. I’m really excited, and I am definitely looking forward to this coming high school season.”
