Class of 2010 Naperville North star Matt Hasse of Velocity has given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball in the Ohio Valley Conference for Austin Peay State. Hasse ranks as one of the top Class of 2010 prospects in the state of Illinois.

Hasse, who stands 6'10", is a developing post talent who has made great strides over the course of the past year. He is a strong and physical player who makes his living in the paint.

Sean Connor of Velocity confirmed the commitment, and noted that despite jumping into the race to get Hasse late, Austin Peay did an excellent job of coming into open gym to observe Hasse, and then moving the recruiting process along quickly.

Hasse becomes the second Division I commitment for the Velocity program this year joining Tim Rusthoven of Wheaton Academy who verballed to William & Mary.

Hasse is the third Illinois-based prospect in the 2010 Austin Peay recruiting class joining Will Triggs (Edwardsville) and Joe Harms (Belleville Althoff).
