Class of 2011 Chicago Orr star Mycheal Henry of the Mac Irvin Fire made another unofficial visit to the campus of the University of Illinois on Saturday, and had a great visit. Henry rates among the top Class of 2011 prospects in the United States.

Henry, who stands 6'6", is a versatile and athletic wing who has seen his recruiting stock explode over the course of the past year. Henry is a points and rebounds machine who gets buckets from all points of the floor.

Henry enjoyed his visit to Illinois on Saturday. “I went down to the University of Illinois for a visit on Saturday with my brother Santino, and my teammate C.J (Jones). You know, I really enjoyed myself down there. I had a chance to hang with the players, watch them run some games up and down, and I was able to mingle with the coaching staff, and get to know them even more. I also took a tour of the campus, locker room, and the rest of the practice facility which is all really nice. Another thing that I really like about Illinois is that they are a big family. Tracy (Abrams), Crandall (Head), and Meyers (Leonard) were all hanging out down there as well, and I consider Jerrance Howard to be like a big brother to me,” said Henry.

Henry went on to note. “I’m going to visit Wisconsin this Monday, and basically do the same thing I did at Illinois this weekend. As far as other schools go, Georgetown, Marquette, and Baylor have all offered and are in the mix along with Illinois and Wisconsin obviously. I’ve got some other schools recruiting me, but those are the main ones who have offered. Nevada and Fairfield have both recruited me hard as well.”

Henry has a strong handle on his decision-making process for selecting a school. “I’m not in a hurry to make my decision by any means, but if the situation feels right I will pull the trigger and commit. People think I’m going to let the recruiting process play out, but in my mind if one of the schools recruiting me feels right with my family, my support staff, and myself, then I will probably commit and not wait it out,” said Henry.

Henry, and the Mac Irvin Fire will be in action during the July Evaluation Period on July 9-11 at the Nike Summer Slam Fest.
