Chicago Ferrari and the Chicago Jaguars will meet this afternoon for the 17-U AAU National Championship in Orlando, Florida. Ferrari knocked off the Mid State Ballerz, and the Jaguars disposed of Houston No Limit to advance to set up an All-Chicago title game.

Both teams have made extremely strong runs to advance to the title game. Ferrari's high octane attack has been keyed by the guard play of 5-7 Jerome Randle (Chicago Hales Franciscan) and 6-0 Darien McKinstry (Chicago Hales Franciscan).

Ferrari attack also features 6-10 Illinois-bound Brian Carlwell (Proviso East), 6-3 Northwestern-bound Jeremy Nash (Chicago Marist), 6-6 Andre Walker (Homewood-Flossmoor), 6-2 Mitchell Bouie (Chicago Marist), 6-2 Brandon Williams (Thornton Fractional North), 6-6 Demond Watt (Thornton Fractional North), 6-2 Kijuane Leach (Chicago Phillips), 6-1 Drake Adams (Crete-Monee) and 6-6 Carl Hayes (Homewood-Flossmoor).

Ferrari has been sensational during the month of July. Head coach Tyrone Slaughter told ChicagoHoops.com that he has been very pleased with the fact that his team has played their best basketball of the summer when it counts the most.

The Jaguars are powered by 6-8 Mac Koshwal (Chicago Boys to Men Academy) and 6-9 Thinjin Moses (Chicago Boys to Men Academy). 6-5 DeAngelo McIntosh (Chicago Julian), 6-0 Thomas Kopko (Chicago St. Laurence) and 6-0 Jeremiah Kelly (Chicago Julian) also make big contributions.

The Jaguars have played a strong national schedule this summer, and have quietly been very strong. The Jaguars have won three tournaments this summer including the Reebok Illinois Wolves Challenge.

Two years ago, MeanStreets, led by Maurice Acker (Ball State) and Jerel McNeal (Marquette) won the 16-U National Championship. Four years ago, the Illinois Warriors led by Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers), won the 17-U National Championship.

The title game is scheduled to tip-off at 2:30pm.
