Head Coach Chris Lowery And Southern Illinois University Land 6-10 Class of 2007 Red Hill Star Nick Evans Brian Stinnette July 11, 2006 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Class of 2007 Red Hill basketball star Nick Evans has given a verbal commitment to play his basketball for head coach Chris Lowery, and Southern Illinois University. Evans ranks as one of the top Class of 2007 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois. Evans, a 6-10 post has emerged as a force this summer while playing with Indiana Elite. Evans is a big, strong and mobile post, who likes to throw down jams anytime he gets his hands on the ball near the basket. Evans told ChicagoHoops.com that the coaching staff at Southern Illinois was the primary factor in his choosing the Missouri Valley powerhouse. Evans feels like his ability to run the floor is currently the strongest part of his game. Evans selected SIU over Miami (OH). He will next be in action with Indiana Elite at the Golden Dome Invitational in South Bend, Indiana later this week. He joins 6-8 Carlton Fay of Putnam County in the Southern Illinois recruiting Class of 2007.
