Class Of 2009 Seton Academy Star Tony Nixon Of The Mac Irvin Fire Picks Up A Scholarship Offer From Southern Illinois University
Class of 2009 Seton Academy star Tony Nixon of the Mac Irvin Fire has now picked up a scholarship offer from Southern Illinois University. Nixon ranks as one of the top 2009 prospects in the state of Illinois.
Nixon, a 6-4 wing, has sizzled on the basketball court all spring, and as hot as any prospect in the 2009 class right now. This past weekend, at the Spiece Run N' Slam, Nixon and Terry Johnson (Chicago St. Rita), shared MVP honors as the Mac Irvin Fire rolled to the championship.
Seton Academy head coach Ken Stevenson confirmed the offer last night. Nixon has now garnered offers from Southern Illinois, Northern Illinois, Illinois-Chicago, Montana State and Howard University.
Nixon, and his Mac Irvin Fire teammates, will be in action this weekend at the Cactus Classic in Arizona.
