17-U Illinois Warriors Fall To Athletes First In The AAU SuperShowcase Title Game, 16-U Rising Stars And 16-U Peoria All-Stars Roll Into Round 2 Of The 16-U AAU National Tournament
The Illinois Warriors fell to Athletes First in the title game of the 17-U AAU SuperShowcase, and the 16-U Rising Stars Gold team rolled into the 2nd round of the 16-U AAU National Tournament.
Drew Crawford (Naperville Central) continued his strong play during the July Evaluation Period with another hot shooting effort from the floor for the Warriors, but it was not enough against an equally loaded Athletes First team.
Meanwhile, the 16-U Rising Stars Gold team knocked off Elite Red by 15 points to move into the 2nd round of the Gold Division at the 16-U AAU National Tournament. Chance Carter (Loyola Academy) led the way with a superb rebounding effort. The team is now 9-1 overall in SuperShowcase and National Tournament games in Orlando.
The 16-U Peoria All-Stars opened the Gold Division Tournament with a win after finishing 2nd in their pool, and will play a 2nd round game this morning against the Westchester Hawks.
17-U Team NLP-DS and Team NLP-AM are both now 2-0 in pool play at the 17-U AAU National Tournament. The 17-U Illinois Stars, and the 17-U Rising Stars Gold team is now 1-0 at the same event.
