Class of 2009 Warren Township basketball star Brandon Paul has now picked up a scholarship offer from the University of Illinois per his mother, Lynda Paul. Paul, who competes on the travel team circuit with Dickey Simpkins' Team NLP, ranks as one of the top Class of 2009 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Paul, a 6-3 guard, has sizzled on the basketball court this spring and summer with Team NLP. Long and athletic, Paul has the ability to get points both with his jumper which he knocks down with great range, and also with his ability to slash to the bucket. Paul's long frame and quick feet make him an ideal candidate to develop into a defensive stopper.

Last year, as a sophomore, Paul bided his time behind Warren's senior trio of Ceola Clark (Western Illinois), Logan Derrick and Shannon Adams. This year, he will be looked upon to lead a Warren team that once again figures to be among the best in the Northern suburbs.

Paul, currently a Top 10 Class of 2009 prospect in the state of Illinois, is in position to continue to see his recruiting stock rise in an Illinois Class of 2009 that continues to define itself. Illinois has also offered scholarships to both D.J. Richardson (Peoria Central) and Chris Colvin (Chicago Whitney Young) from the Illinois Class of 2009.
