Former Thornton Fractional South star Paris Carter of Lake Land College is coming off of a strong freshman year Pensacola (FL) Junior College, and is set to enter his sophomore season as one of the top junior college basketball prospects in the country.

Carter, a 6'6" power forward, is a strong and athletic frontcourt performer who excels with his versatility, and his ability to score and rebound. Carter enjoyed a strong freshman year at Pensacola which saw him garner All=Freshman Team honors in a strong Panhandle Conference that features the likes of Chipola, Tallahassee and Gulf Coast Community College.

Carter will be one of the frontcourt anchors for a Lake Land program that is surging under the direction of head coach Cedric Brown.

Carter told ChicagoHoops.com that he feels his offensive rebounding skills, and his ability to attack the basketball are the two strongest parts of his game currently. He went on to note that he has put a great deal of work into tightening his handle on the basketball, and envisions being a player who can get minutes at either forward slot.

A host of programs have already taken note of Carter's game on the basketball court including DePaul, Penn State and Baylor to name a few, and Carter figures to see his recruitment explode as he heads into his sophomore year.

Carter competed on the travel team circuit with the Illinois Ice as a prep.

Carter will be in action, and part of a loaded field of competing prospects on July 14 at the Midwest Juco SuperStar Exposure Showcase in Merrillville, Indiana.
