John Logan College star D.J. Posley has given a verbal commitment to continue his college basketball career on the west coast for the University of California-Santa Barbara. Posley, an honorable mention Junior College All-American this season, starred in high school at Homewood-Flossmoor.

Posley, a 6-3 guard, posted a stellar season on the hardwood at John Logan. Posley, who led the team in both scoring and assists, was the driving force behind John Logan's run to the #6 ranking nationally.

Posley's father, David Posley said, "Cal-Santa Barbara came hard after D.J. from Day 1. It is a great school, with great players, and D.J. will have an opportunity to come in, and make an impact right away." Santa Barbara returns a good deal of their core players from a year ago, and will be the preseason favorite to win the conference.

Posley, who played alongside of Julian Wright (Kansas), Cyrus Tate (Iowa) and Marcus Relphorde (signed with St. Louis) in high school visited the Santa Barbara campus two weeks ago.
