Chicago Demons 16-U And 17-U Teams Both Open With Wins At The Howard Pulley Invitational In Minneapolis, Minnesota
The Chicago Demons 16-U and 17-U teams both opened the Howard Pulley Invitational Basketball Tournament in Minneapolis, Minnesota with pool play wins on Friday night.
The 17-U Demons beat ECI Elite 74-58. Leading the win was Christian Byrd (Chicago Walter Payton) with 18 points , Brandon Smith (Walther Lutheran) scored 15 points, Jeremy Head (Rich South) and Chris Eversley (Chicago Walter Payton) both chipped in 13 points. Gerald Carter (Chicago Vocational) had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The 16-U Demons scored a big 51-40 victory over Howard Pulley White. DeShun Watkins (Chicago Crane) led all scorers with 15 points. Floyd Campbell (Chicago Von Steuben) scored 11 points and grabbed 9 rebound. Joseph Macon (Chicago Senn) added another 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Jermaine Hiler (Chicago Von Steuben) had 7 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
