In one of the best performances this season on the summer basketball circuit, Chicago Ferrari point guard Jerome Randle (Chicago Hales Franciscan) dropped 44 points and 11 assists on the New York Gauchos in a double overtime win. Ferrari will now meet the Illinois Warriors in the second round of the 17-U SuperShowcase in Orlando, Florida.

Words cannot fully describe the show that the 5-7 Randle put on at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. With Ferrari trailing by 7 points in the fourth quarter, Randle dropped a pair of three-pointers, and scored on a drive to the hole, all in a span of 30 seconds to put his team up by one.

Randle continued his one-man assault, and proceeded to put Ferrari ahead by 8 points. All told, in the fourth quarter, Randle took his team from a 7-point deficit, to an 8 point lead in just over 3 minutes!

The Gauchos fought back, and the game went back and forth, until Ferrari took a 2-point lead in the closing seconds. The Gauchos then sent the game to overtime with a basket at the buzzer. Randle again went to work in overtime dropping three's, throwing out dimes, and jetting to the rim at will.

The Gauchos took a 3-point lead with 3 seconds left in the first overtime. Randle then dropped a running three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to the second overtime.

Randle was again the man in the second overtime. He was relentless with his drives to the hole, and gave Ferrari what they needed to win by sticking another three-pointer, and hitting four free throws to close out the second overtime. Ferrari survived a pair of late three-point attempts by the Gauchos to win the game.

With the basketball in his hands, Randle is an absolute speed demon, and one of the fastest guards in the country. His speed renders him unguardable at times. The Gauchos were forced to try and deny him the basketball, because any time he touched it, they couldn't stop him.

On the heels of an incredible month of July, Randle's stock is soaring through the roof. He has always been a jet with the basketball, and now that he rarely turns the ball over, he has become a one-man wrecking crew. Keep in mind that in three years of high school basketball, Randle has won two Class A state championships at Hales Franciscan.

The Jerome Randle Fan Club is growing on a daily basis. Ferrari games have become one of the most popular attractions in Orlando. The audience for Randle's latest performance included both Bruce Weber of the University of Illinois, and Jerry Wainwright of DePaul University.

Today at 1:00pm, Ferrari will square off against Jon Scheyer (Glenbrook North) and the Illinois Warriors.
