Class of 2010 Crete-Monee star Ray Lester of Orange Crush has picked up a Division I scholarship offer from North Carolina A&T. Lester ranks as one of the top Class of 2010 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Lester, a 6'6" power forward, excels with his size, athleticism and versatility on the basketball court. He is coming off of a strong run on the travel team circuit with Orange Crush where he anchored the frontcourt while 6'5" Kent State-bound Eric Gaines (Hillcrest) held down the backcourt.

Lester had a strong official visit to the campus of North Carolina A&T this weekend, and notes that he is going to talk with his parents, and then decide what the next step in his recruitment will be.

On the court, Lester is continuing to put in work toward improving his game. Lester notes that he is continuing to put in work on his post moves, strengthening his already strong frame, and also his ball-handling.

Lester will be a part of a strong Crete-Monee team this season that is brimming with talent. Lester, 6'6" Western Illinois-bound Mario Redmond, and 6'3" mega-athletic wing Jamie Crockett combine to form one of the top frontcourt trio's in the state of Illinois. 6'4" Josh Humphrey, 2011 standout Kentrell King, and 2013 point guard Marvie Keith combine to give Crete an abundance of backcourt depth.
