Illinois-Bound Class Of 2010 Waukegan Star Jereme Richmond Of The 17-U Rising Stars Gold Team Selected To Participate In Nike Global Challenge
Class of 2010 Waukegan High School basketball star Jereme Richmond of the 17-U Rising Stars Gold team has been selected to participate in the highly prestigious Nike Global Challenge. Richmond will represent the United States in an event which will feature some of the top upcoming basketball players in the world.
Richmond, a 6'7" small forward, has already given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball for head coach Bruce Weber, and the University of Illinois.
The Nike Global Challenge finishes off the summer basketball season. Players were selected based on their performance at the Lebron James Skills Academy, and the individual position skills academies which preceded the Lebron camp.
The tournament will take place from August 8-10 in Hillsboro, Oregon. The tournament will feature three squads of top players representing the United States. The field of teams will be rounded out by a strong contingent of International teams including Euroleague junior champion FMP-Serbia, and teams from Puerto Rico, Senegal, Lithuania and Canada.
