Class Of 2009 Bloomington High School Basketball Star D'Mitri Riggs Of The Spiece Gym Rats Continuing To Diversify His Game On The Basketball Court
Class of 2009 Bloomington High School basketball star D'Mitri Riggs of the Spiece Gym Rats continues to diversify his game on the basketball court. Riggs ranks as one of the top 2009 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.
Riggs, a 6-3 point guard, brings both size and athleticism to the backcourt. He combines a strong handle on the basketball with an ability to penetrate the lane at will.
This past weekend, at the Bill Hensley Memorial Spiece Run N' Slam, Riggs impressed with his ability to run a team. Riggs ran the show for a Spiece Gym Rats team that advanced to the Elite 8, and also featured 6-9 Purdue-bound Jeff Robinson (Lawrence North) and 6-6 Justin Martin (Lawrence North).
Riggs told ChicagoHoops.com that he is continuing to work on his jumper. One of the top point guards in the Illinois Class of 2009, Riggs noted that he already has been offered by Illinois State University, and is getting a good deal of interest from a number of other programs.
Riggs is a player to keep a close eye out for over the course of the balance of the spring and summer travel team circuit.
