Glenbrook South star Jeff Ryan has verbally committed to play basketball next year for Bill Carmody, and the Northwestern Wildcats. Ryan ranks among the top basketball prospects in the Illinois Class of 2006.
Ryan, a 6-8 small forward, is one of the most versatile players in the state of Illinois. A strong ball-handler, Ryan is actually somewhat of a "point" forward.
Ryan, who competes on summer basketball circuit with Larry Butler's Illinois Warriors, had a strong month of July. Ryan was solid at both the Nike Peach Jam, and also at the 17-U AAU SuperShowcase in Orlando, Florida.
Ryan will join Jeremy Nash (Chicago Marist) in Northwestern's 2006 class. The Wildcats also have a verbal from 6-8 Kevin Coble from the state of Arizona.
