Class Of 2011 Riverside-Brookfield Star Ryan Jackson Of Old Gold Is Ready To Follow Up An Outstanding Spring With An Even Better Month Of July Cavan Walsh June 24, 2010 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Class of 2011 Riverside-Brookfield star Ryan Jackson of Old Gold was outstanding throughout the spring, and is now focused on continuing to push his recruiting stock to new heights this summer. Jackson rates as one of the top Class of 2011 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois. Jackson, a 6'2" strong-framed point guard, excels both in the classroom, and also on the basketball court. Jackson has followed up a superb junior season at Riverside-Brookfield with an equally strong spring on the travel team circuit with Old Gold. Jackson is starting to see his recruitment pick up, and has landed his first scholarship offer. “Lewis was the first school to offer me. I really have a great relationship with Coach Trost, and the entire staff at Lewis. They are really good guys. I really enjoyed my visit to Wisconsin Green-Bay this past Monday. I played with their team which was really fun, and the campus was very nice. Coach Wardle seems great. My high school coach tells me they are hot on my trail, and may be offering soon. WestPoint and New Hampshire are calling regularly,” said Jackson. Jackson has a clear idead of what he is looking for in a school. “Academics must be good without a doubt! I’m also looking for something not too far from home so my folks can see me play at least one game a year. I wish to come in my freshman year and see the court some, but if I have to take a back seat my first year I won’t be turned off. I’m also looking for a coach who I feel a connection with, and who I am comfortable with. I want to play in a program like my high school, where we are playing up and down, and I can make plays for my teammates with a lot of pick and rolls.” Jackson knows that the month of July will bring some long days and nights, but is looking forward to being all about taking care of business on the floor for Old Gold, and hopes to add some scholarship offers in the process. |
