6'8" Class Of 2011 Chicago De La Salle Star Mike Shaw Enjoys An Unofficial Visit To The Campus Of The University Of Wisconsin Over The Weekend Cavan Walsh February 22, 2010 Email Questions/Comments To brian@chicagohoops.com Class of 2011 Chicago De La Salle star Mike Shaw enjoyed an unofficial visit to the campus of the University of Wisconsin over the weekend, and got an opportunity to take in their game against Northwestern. Shaw ranks as one of the top prospects in a loaded Illinois Class of 2011. Shaw, a 6'8" power forward, enjoyed his visit to Wisconsin. “It was cool. I loved the stadium and the facilities. They are definitely top notch. I got to check out their game against Northwestern, and to talk to the coaches. They had Devon Hodges, George Marshall, and Chasson Randle all there watching the game as well,” said Shaw. Shaw, who competes on the travel team circuit with the Mac Irvin Fire, is continuing to take his time with the recruiting process. “Coach Bo Ryan seems like a really good guy. They offered me a scholarship a long time ago, but they said they had been trying to get me down there for about two years. Wisconsin is one of my options; I’m still just taking my time and letting the process run course,” said Shaw. Shaw, and his De La Salle teammates are taking the rest of the season one step at a time. “Man we have to just keep playing hard. We have been waiting all year for the playoffs so we have to step it up right now. We are taking it one step at a time and we want to make it downstate,” said Shaw. Shaw, and his De La Salle teammates will next be in action on Friday when they play Chicago Brother Rice. |
